What we stand for

We will not back-bite, gossip, or hate.

We will look to God for our identity.

We will deny the world's definition of who we are.

We will support and care for each other and those around us.

We will stay connected with God and with each other.

We will eat up life with joy and fun!

When girls love by cleaning

Last GNO, we all went over to a widow's rental house to help clean.  Her renters left her with quite a mess and she needed some major help. Never have any of us had more fun serving someone in our very own community! Everyone chose their own handkerchief to tie around their heads.

For our lesson, we watched appropriate clips from Bride Wars. We learned that friendship is a very important thing. After the lesson, we played a really fun game called Pterodactyl where everyone has to say "Pterodactyl" without showing their teeth or laughing! Before everyone left, Jessica announced her engagement to Jason Blankenship, an alum from LCS!  We celebrated her upcoming wedding with lots of noise!!!

Self Defense Pros!

At GNO last time, we all had a great time. Not only did we learn how to defend ourselves, but also had a campfire with smores and an important lesson on our beauty. We specifically discussed God's view of us and how He looks at the inside not the outside appearance like most people do. We listened to two songs to help encourage us to be ourselves- "Beautiful" by Group One Crew and "Live Out Loud" also by Group One Crew. These songs were very encouraging as they described how to be ourselves through living out loud and knowing we are beautiful in God's eyes. Having Zoe's dad come and teach us self defense was extremely fun. Thankfully there were no major injuries!! Playing tag was a wonderful extra activity that was included!

Stay up on the blog for upcoming dates - probably next in June!!!

Pancakes before and Comedy ahead

So, coming soon is the next GNO - March 16th 7-10 PM!!! We are so excited about it - we will be being joined by Tammy Sandel, a local improv comedian who is going to make us laugh and teach us skills of how to deal better with relationships using humor!! It will be awesome - she loves talking to girls our age about this stuff.

And...don't forget in April we will be having a local police officer come and teach us some basics of self-defense - you will want to dress comfortably in April, no doubt!!

And...just to update you on our time together in January, it was

AWESOME!!!!!!!

We had so much fun! Jessica's fiance and Emily's dad and little sister, Sophia were our pancake chefs and we had a feast!

Then we had a great pillow fight and then a lesson about how TV shows can draw us away from the things that are most important in our lives, all centered around the verse from Luke that we have been focusing on - "Where your treasure is, there you heart will be also."

We want to learn to invest our energy, time, passion in those things that will bring us closer to God and His ways, not further away!!!
