Pancakes before and Comedy ahead

So, coming soon is the next GNO - March 16th 7-10 PM!!! We are so excited about it - we will be being joined by Tammy Sandel, a local improv comedian who is going to make us laugh and teach us skills of how to deal better with relationships using humor!! It will be awesome - she loves talking to girls our age about this stuff.

And...don't forget in April we will be having a local police officer come and teach us some basics of self-defense - you will want to dress comfortably in April, no doubt!!

And...just to update you on our time together in January, it was


AWESOME!!!!!!!


We had so much fun! Jessica's fiance and Emily's dad and little sister, Sophia were our pancake chefs and we had a feast!

Then we had a great pillow fight and then a lesson about how TV shows can draw us away from the things that are most important in our lives, all centered around the verse from Luke that we have been focusing on - "Where your treasure is, there you heart will be also."

We want to learn to invest our energy, time, passion in those things that will bring us closer to God and His ways, not further away!!!

December balloons!!

Well, what can you say about our December GNO?

It was beast, beastiest of the beast!!!

At the beginning of the night, the room had about 500 balloons in it.

After

Lots and Lots and LOTS

of NOISE and SCREAMING and LAUGHTER...


only latex pieces all over the place!


What a crazy fun time to hang out, eat and laugh and play!!!


Plus, we talked more about our theme verse - "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." This time in conjunction with movies. We again learned that what we put into our minds, invest ourselves in, and spend time doing is what we tend to become like. We saw and talked about some examples of movies that lead us toward Godliness and some that lead us away. We also learned that many times the influence that these types of things have on us is not something we see at first. We even talked about ways to guard ourselves from harm and bad influences and to help each other to treasure the best, so our heart will move toward the best!!!


In short, it was a great time!!


We will be hanging out again on February 3rd, March 16th and April 13th - all 7-10PM unless you are otherwise informed!

Fall and Fantastic Females!!!!

Hey Girls! Well, it was a fantastic fall party for GNO this last Friday. It was crazy and wild and leafy!! There was flashlight tag and frenzied leaf pile diving! And, of course, there was great food!

Plus, we had a great time learning following after Luke 12:34 about how music and what we listen to can have a big impact on our lives - we heard some examples of music that seems so perky and fun, but the words begin to lead us to believe things that will be harmful to us. And some music that was awesome and the words helped us grow closer to God too. We made plans to look at the words out of our music much more closely in the future, remembering that what we put into our minds (our treasure) will often be what we become (our heart).

We will be hanging out again DECEMBER 9th - mark your calendars, tell your parents!!!!!!!

A Review of AWESOME!!

Hey Girls!!

We had an awesome time on the 9th! We spent some time just talking about all we have talked about in the last fantastic year of GNO!!

We then started making a list of the things we will stand for:
1) We will not gossip - we will not talk behind other peoples' backs
2) We will embrace the differences between us - we are glad we are all unique
3) We will encourage each other for the way God made us
4) We will include all who join us, and work to exclude no one.
5) We will put good things into our bodies, our minds, our souls.
6) We will spend time investing in things that will make us more like God made us
to be


We then went crazy, and fired up the nerf guns for the annual GNO Nerf Gun War!!!!

It is amazing how fun controlled nerfy violence can be! Thank goodness for goggles!

As always, we had great food, and great times - enjoying fantastic girls!

The time will be 30min later for start because of a soccer game for several of the girls - starting 7:30, until 10:00!
